Headache... How to choose a good English school for my kid?

The hard truth has finally dawned upon me... before my wife conceived, we were laughing on how "kiasu parents" were... sending their kids to phonics classes at nursery level. Tables are turned now, and I've succumbed to the temptation. My priority appears to be adjusted now: PREPARE MY GIRL FOR PRIMARY 1!!

There are so many reputable English schools in Singapore... British Council immediately comes to mind, and the name just sounds great. Morris Allen English Study Centre is the next big player... My colleague sends her daughter there and it's always packed. Lorna Whiston Study Centre, another private school with heavy caucasian backing.. Or Mavis Tutorial Centre? Headache...

Strategy now is to go for one trial lesson after another.. hopefully I can learn more about what I should be looking for! Clueless! Dear Readers, how do you choose?

Nick Jr.. Disney Junior... Discovery Kids.. Now stuck on TV..!

Recently finally got what my girl wanted for her birthday.. the Starhub Kids Basic Upsize Group on Cable TV.. now she's stuck on Nickelodeon Junior instead of Discovery Kids..

My original intention was so she could watch more programmes on Discovery Kids, but somehow she manage to get so hooked on Nick Jr now and Disney Junior.. with no "real" good kids television programmes.. what a waste of money and backfire! Heard there is a method to lock down channels using the remote, but haven't had the time to take a look at the feature yet..

Recently the Build-a-Bear came out with the My Little Pony soft toy, that was so popular that even my girl heard about it school, and was bugging me to get it! Oh well time to make a trip to NEX and see what the big fuss is about... I wonder if she will mind if I get it for her her next birthday instead... haha!
